About

Focused on experimental physics and detector development

Physics student at the University of Edinburgh and an alumnus of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.

I have experience in data analysis research and experimental work at DESY and the European XFEL, where I tested detector prototypes and developed skills in Python-based analysis, experimental setup, reporting and presenting findings. These projects exposed me to new technical challenges and helped me build strong problem-solving and adaptability, key skills for an aspiring physicist.

Outside of work, I'm into running, chess, design and good coffee.

Summer Student

DESY Summer Student Programme

Hamburg, Germany · Jul 2024 – Sep 2024

Characterisation of the first High-Z AGIPD detector prototypes

  • Set up detector modules and performed initial calibration runs
  • Summarised early results, identified and resolved issues
  • Collected data and performed Python-based analyses
  • Generated plots to study ASIC signal-shaping behaviour
  • Designed and 3D-printed a custom detector cover
Beam User

European XFEL – TEMPUS

Schenefeld, Germany · Jul 2024 – Sep 2024

Timepix4-based detector system testing under real beamline conditions

  • Tested early Timepix4-based prototypes during beamtime
  • Assisted with mechanical installation and detector setup
  • Quickly learned and adapted to the experiment's software tools
  • Troubleshot software issues by reviewing Python scripts
Beam User

PETRA III · Beamline P66

Hamburg, Germany · Jul 2024 – Sep 2024

Luminescence & structural analysis of RE-doped ZrO₂ ceramics

  • Conducted time-resolved luminescence spectroscopy
  • Collected and logged emission and excitation datasets
  • Assessed data relevance and quality, analysed results
  • Visualised signals using plots and 2D luminescence maps
